Q: Why is revision so important?
A: The first draft is just that--A FIRST DRAFT. It is where you get your story down on paper. Don't worry about spelling, grammar or any writing mistakes. When you begin your revision is when you polish your story into a finished peice. Revision isn't a one time thing, you may have to go over it time and time again until you feel that it is the best you can do. When you think that it's finished read it outload. This will expose many hidden mistakes as well as pointing out how your sentances flow.
